First Trip Abroad

Growing up I didn't know how the world looked, the only access we had to the world was TV (no internet for us at those times). However, on TV we could see the world wide and clear (or at least I thought so). We would watch TV Shows where hosts would fly to some magnificent areas of the world and would explore, I always got chills from watching those kinds of TV shows.
The idea of travelling the world always made me happy but I didn't get to travel outside my country until I turned 9. . .

It was a gloomy day, since yesterday the weather looked angry at us. Strange thing since for the past few weeks we had scorching heat all around the country. My mom is packing up my clothes because I am travelling to Ulcin (Ulcinj, Montenegro) and I am thrilled about it.
The feeling of having to leave my family back home for one week so I could go with my friends to the sea was something I cannot explain, at one hand I was happy I am visiting the sea for the first time in my life but on the other I am leaving my family back home another first and a horrible one at that. (Even now at 24 I still have the same feelings, excited to explore but sad to be away from my family)
The time has come, I kiss my grandmother goodbye and accompanied by my mother, auntie, brother and sister we go to for the bus.

A bumpy road awaited us, over 30 kids travelling together. . .14 hours later we arrived at our destination, tired to the bone (I still have the very bad habit of not being able to sleep on the road no matter how long the road is) but ecstatic about the great place we have arrived at.
The great Illyrian Castle of Ulcin we could see from very far away and smell of the sea made the view far more memorable, the bumpy waves, the smiley faces of people going to and coming from the beach are sights I won't forget.

It got dark, "let's go to bed" said my friend bearthing heavy after the funniest football game we played on the grounds of the castle. . .The warm beds awaited us with big hugs as we went straight to sleep.

Ugh..The water ain't fun to drink, It was my intention to do it but playing on the sea means you're going to drink some, especially if you make a point to jump every single wave that comes your way.
I remember not going out of the water for hours and hours, I would go out only when I was shivering. In time we found out that even the beach is rather funny if you put some time into it, building small small holes was the beginning of our sand adventures, we ended up making all sorts of things with it, from train rails, to large casttles, writing our names was fun too.

I don't quite remember deatils of the trip very well but I do remember that we had a great time over there, I met and made some very good friends and most importantlly I tasted the sea water which was a mystery to my 9 year old self.

Everybody needs some rest

I really worked hard those days, enjoyed it a lot and did improve a lot. Happy about improvements but tired. Training like that for months and months can take a toll on you. It doesn't matter how tough you think you are, eventually you'll need some rest, otherwise your body will fail you. I needed a holiday, I needed to go somewhere where I would be disconnected from my daily life and rest for a few weeks. I thought about what to do, where to go, how to spend my holiday. . . there wasn't anything that did it all for me. Hiking, however, was something lovely which I fell in love with very quickly. It was during these hikes that I would have time to relax, think about whatever is going on and most importantly rest. It is a bit counter intuitive to think that you rest during your hike, but for me it was a very restful activity. My archery season and training took a toll on me, not only physically but also psychologically. I was tired psychologically, I needed to stop for a l...

University

The summer went by very very quickly, my love for archery kept growing day by day, but October came by and fortunately I got accepted into University. Getting a flat together with my best buddies wasn't that difficult, we had some relatives of ours looking for a rented flat for a few weeks before we went to the capital (in my country the biggest and the best University is in the public University of Prishtina). We got the flat, sorted our rooms and patiently waited for the lectures to begin. The beginning of the lecures: The lectures on my departments were given by some very good professors and I immediately started to enjoy some of them. Old English Literature was becoming one of my favorites, the lessons were interesting and they were presented in a good way. The course was created in such a way that we would get the 'theory' first about when some of these amazing works were written, by whom, why it was written, etc. After that we would get a chance to read some wo...

My First Love

Everybody across Europe loves it, we in Kosova aren't different. As young kids we all fall in love with it and continue to love it for years and years after. Our first great love is Football ! After the war in my country ended, families started to settle on their homes and started doing many different things to help in their kids development. I was quite lucky to live in a city at that time, since the opportunities that it gave us were substantially higher that kids who lived in villages. Among the great things that we had was the football club. The club re-started its activity on the first summer after the war and started accepting young footballers on their football academies soon after. I started playing football for my local team "Drenica" when I was 7, and it definitely was my first great love. Training was a very fun activity and I can truly say that from training to be a football player I have learned a lot of things about human bodies, especially mine. (When...
