The birthplace of Philosophy

Studying, training and youth activities were enough activities to make my days full. I would always be busy, however I loved it. One thing that when I was younger I didn't really like was working a lot, I didn't mind to do one thing at a time but when it came to doing multiple things at the same time I didn't really enjoy it, growing up I started to enjoy it better and better everyday. And at 22 (this is happening in the year 2015) I learned how to live by doing multiple things daily. I felt I was growing as a man working on these things and I absolutely believe that everyone should do this at one point in their lives.

-Philosophy: Going back to high school, when I first started to learn Philosophy I felt how far the human mind has gone and how little to nothing we as individuals know. Learning about the worlds best philosophers, about philosophies. about world views developed from the greatest minds to ever live among us, make no mistake some of those minds have caused devastating troubles to the world but they were great anyhow. One thing that truly amazed me when I was studying some philosophy in high school was the Greek democracy. When one day, my coach noticed me that we were going to Greece, I was more than happy.
We faced some issues on our quest to Greece, first our two countries don't have diplomatic relationship, so getting a visa is quite difficult, we managed somehow to get them though. Then came the financial problems that we always have to face, whenever we want to travel somewhere to compete, we overcame that too, and finally and most importantly this competition would be held in March (28'th of March 2015) and this was a rather huge problem to overcome since training with our straw target was very difficult if not impossible. Having this in mind and knowing that I had to shoot a good score was difficult, we tried to train indoors for as much as we could. at least we would work on our techniques, we did good but not being able to train everyday for weeks or months before a tournament is very difficult.

Considering all the troubles, we got our flight tickets and flew from Prishtina to Instanbul and from there we flew to Athens, took a bus and went to Marathon, a place of great history and an amazing beauty.

In this story I want to focus more on the actual trip and explain what we ate, what we saw, where we went and what we did, different from previous blogs where I explained tournaments and archery stuff, this will contain some of that but not a lot.
Marathon was great, we were accommodated in a very good hotel, with amazing sightseeing and good rooms.
Food: The Mediterranean diet is a good one. Living near the beach has its advantages, the seafood and different meats were cooked in an amazing fashion. The depth that the cooks went to cook seafood and my favorite 'chicken meat', the salads were very good and very healthy too. From time to time, I crave for some deserts and what they put in front of us were irresistible, more than once I had more than I should have (YOLO).
SIGHTSEEING: The beach, the buildings and the history of Marathon was something very attractive. The beach was great, unfortunately we went there in March, which wasn't a good time to dive the sea but even the sea wind, the smell was enough to make us all feel better. Some buildings in Marathon were old and very well preserved which was very good considering that in my country we didn't do a good job into preserving old buildings. Finally the history of this place was quite amazing, we went and visited some of the sites in this city and we had a lot of fun.

ATHENS: Absolutely one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited in my life. I would recommend to everyone. if you can, go and visit it, you won't regret it. "Temple of Olympian, Zeus'' was one of the most brilliant things I have had the chance to see so far in my life, "Acropolis Museum" another gem in Athens, everyone kid or adult should visit this place to see the history of the ancient Greece.
Definitely, this was a trip to remember throughout my life and memories that make me smile everyday.

Competition: This was one of those competitions, where no matter how hard I tried to concentrate and shoot well, everything was bounds against me. The winds were quite strong, which wasn't  surprising since we were shooting close to the beach. the wind could have been manageable if it wasn't for the second problem I/we faced, it was the rain. Those who wear glasses understand my pain, it is very difficult to shoot with glasses, they get wet and will block your aiming, it was difficult enough to shoot with the wind, now I had to shoot without aiming properly.
I wish I had done better but it was a great learning experience. Anyways, it was during this trip that I understood that I would participate on the "First European games "BAKU 2015", as a member of the Kosovo Olympic team and I went to cloud 9. I was very very happy, everything that I had done for the past several years was paying off, I would participate in such an important tournament, it was incredible.
We returned home after 8 days of being in Marathon, brought back the great news to my family and friends, everyone was happy and I started training like never before. . .
